So long, Farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, Goodbye!!

This is not goodbye to this blog, but goodbye to dreams of being an FA!! I think it's time to realise that indeed somethings were never meant to be. Well sometimes your emotions take over, and you let something drive you to a passion, that you fail to see the obstacles clearly visible just ahead of you. Well to begin with I don't have a perfect smile, and have limited customer service experience. What is more, I'm not in my 20s or 30s either but now driving down the 40s highway lol.

So what does one do, but sit back assess what should have been assessed initially, weigh the pros and cons, and set on a career path elsewhere. This assessment is needed basically for anything you set out to do, be it a career path, a new job or for that very matter choosing a life partner, a new home, the list is endless. Well, fortunately other areas in my life are fine and I cannot complain, but this desire to be an FA at the back of my head, has unfortunately got to go.

At least I can still admire those in uniform and chase them in flight to have them photographed, and perhaps take a moment to tell them they are living my dream job!!! So to all those FAs out there, hold your head up high, though not so high those looking at you think you are being arrogant, but high enough to breathe in deeply and walk tall and proud in that uniform you don! It's Auf Wiedersehen for me but it's Bon Voyage for you all there. So in the lyrics from the Sound of Music, "So long, Farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, Goodbye!!

As well in the words of Leonardo Di Vinci "For once you have tasted flight you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards, for there you have been and there you will long to return". At least I can take to the air at any given opportunity, and continue to live the dream though not as one serving but one being served!

Is it Summer? Not quite yet!

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4006/4460822977_f4bd53a69c.jpgToronto has been experiencing some warmer than expected temperatures, which has had many reaching out for the outdoors. Well in my case it meant going spotting, as early as March! It was 14 degrees today and that was quite balmy to be able to stand in the open area near the runways, and not have to shiver too much! However by the time the day started to come to a close, it was time to constantly have those hands in my jacket, and head home before it got much cooler!!

Here are some random pics from today's spotting in what seemed like almost summer!! Well Spring officially began on March 20, 2010 so you cannot blame one for dreaming!!

I'm now on Airliners.net

After reading the trip reports on Airliners.net for years, I am now officially contributing my own trip reports on that site.

The first to go was basically a copy and paste from my own blogspot, the Emirates you've won my heart blog.

Next up were the trip reports with Etihad (Previously posted on Flyertalk and Luchtzak.be)

Followed by Qantas (Brand new trip reports)

Then Emirates again (2006 trip - Previously posted on Flyertalk)

And finally Lufthansa (Brand new trip reports)

I have plans to post my trip reports on Malaysian & Swissair as well (both on luchtzak.be) but I need to scan photos, before I can add to the trip report.

It's great to be on www.airliners.net finally.
